Do you bother quarantining the first round of tank inhabitants after cycling?

If I get my first two fish from the same LFS display tank, should I bother with a quarantine or is there no point due to there being no other critters in the tank?

Yes. Quarantine. I thought the same as you and put some of the first fish in my large display that introduced uronema into that tank. It is the one thing you do not want in your display.

At the risk of sounding preachy...After my first almost disastrous battle with uronema I later added a fish from a source that supposedly quarantined all fish before shipping them to buyers. I then learned all about Prazi resistant flukes after that fish died along with other prized fish in my display. After that I read the absolutely best advice I have ever read on this forum. Basically that advice was ...quarantine everything yourself...no matter the source. Since then nothing (and I mean nothing) goes in my display before I've quarantined it myself.

Good luck to you. Happy reefing!
