Hey gang I’m two weeks in a fallow period. Setting up 2 systems one for fish the other for coral. I see a lot of topics on this. What are some of you doing. I’m new at this quarantine thing so it’s kind of confusing.

It can be very confusing! What is the reason for your fallow period? Did you have an outbreak of something or is it just precautionary? Also, your corals and inverts can remain in your dt for the fallow period as the parasites that affect your fish cannot host themHey gang I’m two weeks in a fallow period. The treatment depends largely on what kind of fish you have, some treatments are safe for some fish and not for others. I'm guessing you may already know this but the fallow period for velvet is 6 weeks. Can you provide us with a full list of the fish you're treating?I went fallow because of velvet [emoji35]. So I’m trying find the best way to prevent from happening again. Just curious as to methods of treatment. Such as cp , copper or safety stop etc.

That's a horrible way to learn! I'm so sorry.Horrible. I have been out of the game for over 10 yrs. I have had ich. Never velvet. Took quarantine lightly. But anymore.

Safety stop isn't really recommended amongst the users here, it's basically methelyne blue and Formalin in unknown concentrationsThanks. Does anyone use safety stop and is it worth it

It's mainly because we don't know what the concentrations are, both of those are available, by themselves, in known concentrations so you know how much you're usingAny particular reasons why. Like I said I’m new to all this. I want to get the right products one time. This death hurt my kids bad and I don’t want to do it again.
