looking to quarantine a few cerith and trochus snails before adding to my DT. Will these snails eat seaweed ? Or does any one have a suggestion on feeding them while in qt?

I have a 20 g invert qt established and algae alowed to grow ( I've also taken macro algae from the DT and put it in the qt) snails don't seem to care for Cheto or nori .ive also had nasarius in here The urchins Like nori, the ceriths will like some sand and rock to climb currently my qt has only two trocus three cerith and two strawberry top hats I've got an egg crate barrier to keep some scallops from getting mixed up. Everything is quarantined for at least 30 days Hope this helps Cheers

I just throw in some pellets or flakes. I dunno if they eat it, but it contributes to algae growth so there's that

i think it depends on what you are trying to QT against.

If you are concerned about vertebrate (i.e. fish) parasites hitchhiking in the water that the snail carries on/in it, then you can put them in a tank without fish for a month or two and assume that the fish-preying parasites have died off.

I think this has been an age old issue/discussion....
