I am confused on minimum tank requirements. Liveaquaria says 250 , KP Aquatics says 100. That’s a huge difference. Which is it?
I have a 6ft 125.

The thing is minimum gallons doesn’t account for footprint. Say I could put a yellow tang in a 80 gallon deep blue (pretty big footprint) but a 120 is usually the recommendation.

When in doubt, always go with LA's sizes. All other sites are a joke for minimum tank sizes IMHO. No way on earth I could see a Queen Angel living out it's life in a 100 gallon tank (even if it was the only fish).

So, is my 6ft 125 too small?

Definitely. You are talking about a very active fish that gets 18 inches when fully grown. That means just sitting still it's taking up a quarter of your tank. Add in the relatively narrow width for a 125 and it just doesn't make good sense.

You need big for a queen or she will pick on her tank mates. I have a 300 with a queen and a blue both near the same size. Would like to put them in a bigger one but don’t have the funds

That’s what my tank is 3 x 6 long
?how deep? With a 3 foot by 6 foot tank and 125 gallons it would only be about 11 inches tall am I correct? Queen angelfish are tall. With a sandbed it wouldn’t be able to move up and down. When you get a 72”l by 36”w by 18”h than you are in queen angel territory

You could do other angels. Live aquaria says Regals are ok in that size. The Genicanthus genus are some you should consider too
