I have a silly question about copepods. I just ordered some form algae barn and am expecting to recieve them tomorrow. I don’t want to add them until after lights out. My question is should I refrigerate them ? Open the top to let some air in? When I add the to the tank do I need to acclimate them to temp or salinity. Thanks in advance for the help with these silly questions.

You can refrigerate them. I would let some air in though.

Refrigerating them makes them dormant. Just bring to room temperature when youre ready to add them to the tank. Just pour in- no acclimation required.

Method I've used (from Algae Barn site):

The following may be suggested when seeding pods:

Check the contents of the package to ensure the copepods are there and moving; copepods are easier for some people to see than others.
Place the jars to float in your tank
Once Condensation appears on the exposed plastic of the jar, it is time to put it in your system.
Stop your water flow, and shut off your lights
Gently pour the contents of the Jar into the refugium or sump.
Wait approximately 30 minutes before turning back on pumps and/or lights!
