Question About Using PVC Inside DT

I will be building a new 125g reef, I wanted to make some PVC frames to place on my sand bed and lift the base rock slightly over it rather than resting on it. The only PVC tubing I can find has the stamped lettering on it, silly question, is it toxic to use in the tank? Will it leak toxins slowly over time? Sorry but I've searched for this answer and could not find one...thanks for your time and help!!

Are you are trying to keep the LR off the bottom glass or off the sand?

You can sand off the writing, or remove it with pvc pipe cleaner which is MEK and evaporates away in seconds. But the printing is harmless to the tank. I have LOTS of pvc pipe in my tank.

I used egg crate and short pvc pipe legs to make 'platforms' so 90%-95% of my LR is an inch or 2 above the sand. Only LR along the edge is in the sand. This allows for better flow of water throughout the tank and especially at the sand where cyano likes to start and it gives my sand loving critters more room to hide and live (serpent stars, sea cucumbers, nassarius snails, spaghetti worms, and wrasses). And even if you know my LR is off the sand, you can't see it anywhere. Here is what my tank looked like before the LR and sand and now.

Hi Ron, thanks again for lending your advice.....I plan on going with a 1" sand bed and made the frames about 1 3/4" so the base rock can sit over the sand bed. So far they are simple rectangles that I'll place next to each other, but thanks for the extra ideas seen in your snapshot!!!!
