Question about Water & Salt

Hope everyone is having a good day today and has had a great beginning of a New Year .

I have a question ? So as living in FL my LFS that I get water from gets Ocean Sea Water now in the beginning the water was good always tested at 1.024-1.026 the last several times I’ve been getting it it’s been testing at 1.028 so me that guy I questioned it and was told deeper waters have a bit higher salinity .

Opinions anyone ?

So I was looking into Salts I’m only running 3 nanos ATM I kinda like the RedSea salt I have heard good things about it but I would like more info from others on what’s a good salt that’s going to keep me consistent
I’m thinking it’s maybe time I make my own saltwater
My numbers are
ALK 8.6
Cal 450
Mag 1390
Salinity 1.026

Your best bet is to just use whatever salt mixes closest to the numbers you want to keep. I use Red Sea Blue strictly due to the ALK number it mixes to. If you wanted to keep using your LFS water, you can just add a bit of RO/DI water to bring down the salinity.

Collected natural seawater will vary in salinity. If its on the high side, just dilute it.

Almost any artificial salt from a reputable company is acceptable. Success and failure of a reef tank does not hinge on that choice.

Yeah I was thinking about the Red Sea I’d like to keep my numbers as stable as I could before I need to start dosing anything

I Think some water evaporated at the lfs, causing the higher salinity.
As Randy said, dilute with rodi, or better make your own.

Most if not all of the commercially available salts are just fine.
I would make my own.
Most salts have their parameters listed so I'd go through them and pick the one that matches up best to your tank.
The debate goes on forever about who uses which salt, why and how great it is so I'd just pick one and start there.

Very True on the debate about salts I was just curious what people thought about the Red Sea that’s what I was looking at for my tanks .

Your parameters are close to red sea blue bucket so you can start there. :)
I use red sea blue bucket and IO depending on my mood. ;)
Been using regular IO forever with no issues.
Red sea is nice, mixes fast and is consistent.
I find IO to be much more user friendly and cleaner believe it or not but sometimes I want lower alk.
