I have been using the standard BRS carbon dioxide scrubber for nearly six months, and I love it. However, the only downside is that I often forget to refill the canister with water. I don’t want to implement the recirculating design because I don’t want to drill into the lid of my skimmer, and I don’t want to deal with the intake line of the scrubber becoming caked with skimmate over time. So, I thought about purchasing a second scrubber, and filling that canister with only water, and then connecting its output to the input of the media-filled canister. That should allow the moisture to last much longer than the small amount that is supposed to be added to the canister with the media in it.

Have you tried this? If so, do you have any recommendations, concerns, experiences, or other thoughts to share?

Thank you!

Never tried it but it sounds like a good plan.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
