question on clove polyps

Hello

I just got a frag of cool clove polyps that have an orange strip on the leaves and green center, but it has been a day and they have not opened up... My zoa frag opened right up, but not my clove. They seem to be very plump right near the tip, but will not open up.

1) Did something happen or do they just take a while to open up?
2) If I got some detritus on them, will they still open up?

You will just have to give them time. You might want to think twice about cloves they will take over and they are hard to get rid of once they do.

I dip and put my new coral in heavy flow for a few days. Have had cloves take over a week to open up. Cloves are hardy, agree with mike007, give them time.
