i just can’t balance between effective skimming and surface skimming for my 9012 (not DC model). When it skimmed good, the surface with a oil film can’t be absorbed and skimmed. If I turn the air down to skim the surface oil, it can’t form the foam high enough. How can I ‘deal with this? Thanks!

Adjust surface skimming by depth and not pump speed, the shallower you submerge it the more aggressively it surface skims, generally around 1/4, slightly more of the intake grate submerged gives the best surface skimming.

Also, make sure the cup is on right, the tabs engage behind the front black plastic panel.

Thanks! I will get the intake shallow and see if it works.
