So I picked up this skimmer a year+ ago and having a hard time finding info on it .it's an h&s A 200 with dual pumps. curious if I can run it with one pump instead of two if I plug one of the holes for the pump. Skimmer is rated for 500gal I think and I'll have it running on a 180 med - heavy bioload . Plus I'm having a hard time fitting to pumps and skimmer in my skimmer section .

And what depth does it need to sit in? I'm guessing 8-10"?

A link to a manual would prob be very helpful . Anything would really help.

Thanks

Cheers.

Are they the Aqua Bee pumps or the Eheim pumps? Also are the pumps internal or external?

H&S made a single external Eheim skimmer, what is the height of the skimmer? So you should be fine with one pump, can you post a picture of the skimmer?

Those pumps are internal, so if that is your skimmer, just put a plug in one of the holes for the second skimmer, I used to put a piece of PVC with a cap on it.

Ya that's what my idea was. Just wasn't sure if it would totally kill the skim if I did that.

Man on man Sewatec has improved their website. Love it. I have a H&S 150 external with dreaded Aqua Bee pumps as well as a 110 internal skimmer with the same dreaded Aqua Bee pumps. I also have a Euro Reef skimmer pump like H&S uses.

Lol ya I'd never heard of aqua bee until I started researching this skimmer. Indefinite feel more comfortable with the ehiem pumps. Should be easier for replacement stuff .

The impeller cost will cause you to have a pause. They are tough to find. Aquariumsource was selling Reef Dynamics aka Euro Reef old stock and they had the Eheim impellers. Stock up if you can. The most difficult to find are the stainless steel washers, i've seen many threads of people trying to source them.

Maybe try ebay. They maybe selling thru that, also check Avast they may have some laying around, or see if Sewatec has any.

I had the HS-200-2x1260 EXT and it would not run correctly with one pump IMO. The standpipe had to be almost closed to get the water level high enough and there was not enough foam production.
I no longer run this skimmer since it ate up impellers and they were $200 a pop using the EuroReef replacements.

dang. That's expensive. Found a place in Germany that looks to be around $100 shipped but that still is pricey. I was able to get both pumps in my sump section so thats a positive. I'll just have toake sure I keep them clean and keep my fingers crossed. Lol
