Quick question will I be able to attach the 1/2 inch male locline adapter to this 1/2” bulkhead?

Yes, you will be able to screw the 1/2" LocLine adapter into the tank side of the bulkhead.

Do I wrap it with Teflon tape?

I did NOT use tape when I inserted mine into the bulkhead.

No, no teflon tape or other form of sealant should be necessary.

Furthermore, definitely DO NOT ever use teflon tape on any type of PVC fittings. Below is a link from one of the largest manufactures/distibutors of PVC fittings in the country. Definitely worth the few minutes it takes to read it.

No need to use teflon tape as a small tiny leak wouldn't matter on the tank side, unless your sump cant handle the drainage in the case of a power failure. Even so, the leak would be minuscule.

So when I connect the pvc pipe to the thread outside not Teflon? Could that leak. Should I use some other sealer?

Not sure I follow you. Other than screwing the LocLine adapter into the tank side of the bulkhead, there will be nothing else to screw in. The exterior side of the bulkhead you linked has a slip fitting. Am I missing something?

I'm a bit confused. The bulkhead you posted is a female slip. The lockline being attached needs to be a male slip. The slip joint should be tight enough so that avoid using glue. You shouldn't even consider using teflon tape. Like I said, any leakage going back in to sump in the case of a power failure should be minuscule. Without the lockline, is your sump able to handle the drainage up to the very bottom of the bulkhead opening? If so, no need for concern on tiny leakage.

Edit: sorry, I looked closer and saw the bulkhead was threaded. Lol.

Sorry for the confusion. The bulkhead I posted had threads on the outside of the tank to. I could put the pvc pipe in the bulkhead or add a threaded fitting. If I decide to add a threaded fitting could I use Teflon? Not in the tank. Also my bulkheads from my overflow box are threaded can I use Teflon on those?

The bulkhead you posted is a thread x slip bulkhead. Maybe you're a little confused about where pipe or connections connect to the exterior side of the bulkhead. They go inside the hole of the bulkhead. The threads on the outside of the exterior of the bulkead are for the locking nut.

As for threaded PVC fittings, NEVER EVER use teflon tape on threaded PVC fittings. Please do not take my word for it and read the info in the link below. Everything you need to know is in the link below from one of the largest manufacturers of PVC fittings.

Ok I was confused with the pvc pipe. It’s just that so many people use Teflon including Bulk Reef that I thought I should. I guess not.

Do you know any or have used any non hardening sealants you can recommend?
