Quick Question- Undulate Trigger?

Hello! New 2 R2R.
Just wondering, I've got a Maroon Clown, Six Line Wrasse and Filefish in my 55g. I have green star polyps & 1 ruby red crab aswell! I was thinking, if I could get a Undulate Trigger and add it to the tank? I know theyre aggresive, and would need a larger tank soon but do you think I could handle it for now?

That might change as it gets older. Hopefully not for you. I learned along time ago a puffer is gonna puff and a trigger is gonna trig out. Lol way it goes

Yeah this guy was sent to me on accident, the store was supposed to send me an atlantic blue tang to replace the DOA. Opened it and boom this guy was there

Maybe a dwarf lion until you upgrade, but that might be pushing it with the small fish you already have. Most of the unique fish eat small fish or are jerks. Triggers, lions, eelsangels? What about a dwarf angel?

I wouldnt put a dwarf lion in the 55 OP, minimum I say is a 70 gallon, they poop a TON. Eels need more room than a 55 too. OP is best waiting until he gets a bigger tank IMO

I have one on humblefish for my 265. That was a custom built tank that I went all out for. The 135 i just threw together with extra parts I had laying around. It was my "I'm not spending anymore money on the hobby/buck the system tank"(dumb i know) It's actually in my garage on a home made wooden stand. It's ghetto but works. I just never thought it was worth the effort to show off. I was just frustrsted with the custom build and love fish with attitide and was curious about the undulated.
These are from my 265 bedroom tank. Yeah I have an addiction.

Well I finally got my custom 265 delivered after 4 months and as my luck is so great the tank is shattered and the stand is damaged. The stand is salvageable with some tlc. So bummed right now. So now I have 3 tanks in my garage that doesn't include this new one. I moved the 125 from inside...

I tried one once as a juv, she brought flukes into the tank. I just cant seem to keep large angels outside of regals for some reason. Stopped trying after my last emperor passed. Was doing so well until my blue hippo gave everyone something that took em all out

Quarantine is the name of the game. Whether you do it yourself or pay extra to have someone else do it for you. Its not worth chancing it now adays

As it relates to undulated trigger, I am the guy that had one hitch hike into an old display by hiding in some wet used rock that was transported out of the tank, out of water. Must had been a pocket of water in a rock. I’ll post the thread below.

The trigger turned out to be gorgeous, but a tank destroyer. There were 3 fish in the tank prior to us discovering it. It was small then, maybe 3-4”. My wife wanted to keep it, so happy wife happy …..

Well, over the course of 6 months the fish became a terror. Would eat any fish we put in the tank. Ate our entire clean up crew, and anything we put in the tank. Ironically, the 3 fish that were in the tank first, he never once showed aggression towards, never. But, he was such a terror, that because he would kill EVERYTHING else in the tank and added to the tank, I couldn’t keep the algae under control. After about 6 months of trying to get him out, I removed 100% of the rock, drained most of the water and got him out.

Story doesn’t end there. I have him to a LFS. LFS sells it to someone who thinks it’s safe to be in a tank with about 10 tangs. The next day, we’ll, you know the story, the fish is back at the same LFS and for sale again.

Be careful with this fish.

Yep… I run a fowlr system now no inverts and dose coppersafe with new editions and then remove with carbon in a few weeks. Been working so far. Lost fish in QT too so I was like what the heck. My new way seems to be working. Knock on wood

It didn't touch the original fish because they were a part of the background. Like a rock that wasn't invading its territory. It was there first. Sounds weird but sometimes it works out that way. It's a crazy story though. In my case, that tank is just for it when the time comes.

Any one besides fuscus, clown, Titan, and queen. And I'm stressing 90 is for a small juvenile and you will need to upgrade sometime in the future. Just cause a fish fits doesn't mean it should be in that tank. Don't cramp a fish just cause you want one. Personally I wouldnt stick a fish like that in anything less than 6 feet.

Do you think they didn't attack because they were involved before him? I saw on a video if you buy one it should be the last because they are territorial.

Try 400 plus. Like a 8 to 10 foot long. Im assuming you never seen one in real life. Those fish get like two feet in the wild. Still looking at a 18+ inch mean fish. There is a reason you never seen them in hobbyist tanks. Best left in the wild.

I did see on! ABQ Biopark. Stunning, amazing fish. think it was 2 ish feet. Maybe 3. Had a scar on it! BUT DAm! 400?

My opinion long term 135 minimum. 180/220 would be better.
