Quick question?

Hi guys I have a quick question can I put a 2 purple firefish togethere in a 20h?? I'm putting them both at the same time if I can. Or I can just put a purple firefish and coral beauty angel??
I already have a neon dottyback, pair of clowns(Wyoming white, regular clown), banggai cardinal and sixline wrasse.

I do have a really big skimmer and hob filter and GFO reactor and really really good cuc.

It's not all about how the filter etc are it's how much space each fish has. Too many fish can cause territorial problems and stress.

Well all my fish are peacefully living together and doesn't bother no one. So I am going to try to put twobpurple firefish or a purple firefish or coral beauty angel. If I put two firefish together will they fight to death??

I would be careful with 2 they are territorial and will fight with one another especially with such a small tank unless mated pair.:rolleyes:

I had, yes past tense, 2 in my 85 gallon. 1 became aggressive and the other one became the runner.... I had to chase the aggressive one when I feed but I am not around all day. I gave in eventually and let the weak one RIP. I thought they change gender like the neon gobies or clown fish but I don't think they do that.

I used to have 2 helfrichi and I was lucky as they were different gender...They made the ritual dance at night very cool to watch....I found 1 on the floor one day so I sold the other one when I moved to the 85 gallon .....

Feel a little cramped in a 20g. You might want to do a little reasearch on the fish you want to put in. Liveaquaria does a pretty good job describing each species requirements. I always consult their website prior to adding fish. Might save you some headache and some $ in the future. I have a coral beauty in my 90. They like to swim around a lot and mine is constantly foraging. I could not imagine him doing well in my biocube

Well I am getting a small one like 1.5-2 inches and Ima sell it when it get its full size or I'm going to upgrade to a bigger tank. U think that's gonna work?

IMO you are maxed on fish already, I would not add anymore fish. How long has the current livestock been in the tank?

Just because you can does not mean you should. Putting a large fish in a small aquarium creates stress. Stress results in an increase chance of it getting sick. Stress weakens the immune system. Weak immune system equals a fish suseptable to inch,velvet, etc

When I stock I look to the long term. I want my livestock to be happy and healthy for years. I also don't want to try to catch a fish so that it can be rehomed. Just too much work

Agree

The thing is you have:
a dotty back known for aggression,
a six line wrasse known to get aggressive towards new tank mates, and a pair of clowns who will get territorial when you they are sexually mature and start laying eggs,
and you want to add a firefish which is a timid fish so I would be doubtful about that. And a coral beauty needs a larger tank.

Maybe, @evolved could recommend a fish that would fit your tank and current livestock..

Do you have a top on your tank?

+1 for not adding anymore.
It's not about how good your equipments are, but more about the bio load.
All the fish are gonna end up being stressed. And I'm never in the favor of torturing those little guys.
