I have a 125 with 3 islands. This is my torch island. I thought I would get zoas or something to grow on the rocks around them but they grow so fast and shade so much the only thing that ever did grow was a midas zoa that must have got loose from the colony and floated onto the island. There are probably 30 heads of NY Knicks and 30 heads of green. The CC 21 tails has maybe 20 heads and the black torch has 10-15. I've had the black for years and only ever took 1 frag off it. It grows sideways kind of like a wall euphyllia and then pinches off heads. The others grow up and split as expected. In January I took 30+ heads off these. Next January I'll have to do it again.

My torches are fiercely protective of their turf. Those huge ones you got must rule that section of tank completely even from fish.

Very beautiful!
Great description of growth patterns. Is the "CC21" in the picture top left, or? Thanks
If you look at the bottom right there is an aussie gold single head. The colony just to the left of that is the CC21.

beautiful islands! What's the name of the torch in the middle? I have the same torch but I wasn't told what it was when I bought it.

New York Knicks. Has a green mouth and green at the base of the polyp. Very gold throughout the torch.

my dream, but I constantly lose. I read a lot about them, I try to do everything right, everything is fine for a month and then they leave. left alone, I try not to buy more until I get the right parameters for them. The tank is already 1 year and two months old. Horror beautiful corals!
