Well i wake up this morning, come downstairs to gaze at my tank as i alwasys do, but somethings missing. My picasso clown! So i start looking around for him, not in the overflow, not in the floor anywhere so i assumed one of my craps had made a meal of him. Anyway, about 10 minutes later i walk over by my aquarium and slip on my shoe, well guess what! In my right shoe was my poor feesh:sad:, all dried out and crusty. Any explanation on why he decided to jump????

Dang so sorry. Been there and done that too many time in the last couple months. :(

Really anything can spook them. Fish, lights, activity outside the tank, and even current in the water from what I am hearing.

Yeah. I think im gonna go buy a few peices of glass today on make a small ledge faceing inward over the water to keep it from happening in the future

What size tank is it? You could make a net like many of us have now.

I would go with the clear mesh top... I just got my netting the other day but haven't made a frame yet... Check out acroholic for the netting and how to make one.... He has a thread on here clear mesh tops just search it very simple and painless..... Hth btw sorry for your loss man I lost mine to a mp60 and it was heart breaking so I built a new tank with no powerheads and came back bigger and better with my new baby snocasso clowns..... If you need any help with the lid just post I will help ya or sure acroholic might even make it for ya and just ship it.....;)

Nah the mp60 sucked him up!!!! There very powerful and any weak swimmer is in for it if they get near... I have a thread mp60=fish loss.... Check it out some time it was devastating after the response from my female...:(

Sorry about the lose. I made a couple of those clear mesh covers and they have saved my flame wrasses at least three times that I was there to witness it and I'm sure many more times that I wasn't. Some type of cover is necessary IMO.

should i be worried about my halide melting it? because my pendant hangs pretty low to the water

nope they don't block light and the material "polypropylene" has uv inhibitors it in to protect it... shouldn't be a problem unless were talking 2 or 3" then maybe.....

oh ok, its probably about 10". im gonna shoot over to home depot in a few and see if they have a roll of it there and the stuff to make the frame and give it a shot!

doubt they have the mesh but they have everything else you need the frame spline tool and spline and plastic 90* corners.... you can buy the mesh from bulk reef supply for cheap if you cant get a hold of acroholic.....

k, ill check into it. geez i cant believe how much of a headache a square box full of water can be lol, although its well worth it
