Radion or Orphek

Orpheks for me. Radions are caca and overpriced for what they offer. They are slowly falling into the past. I am setting up x6 OR4s 150 bars over my 175 gal reef tank.

Waiting for the 1.5” Tslot bars so I can install them over the tank

I have a 180G that is 64"L x 29"W x 22"H. Currently using 3 Neptune Skys and 2 OR4 bars (48").

The Sky's could be replaced with three XR30... if I were to replace them with Orphek, how mayn and which ones would work? I assume 3 Natura Icon, or two Atlantik Icon?

But the Skys were 200 watts each. The natura are only 150w.

I really like the changes that Orphek has done over the years. Changing the housing from two pieces of acrylic sandwiching some chicken wire was not my cup of tea. Also they dramatically increased the spread from where they once were. That being said, if you have a problem, there is still no where to send the light to get it fixed. That may not matter to you but I expect that to be the case if I’m buying a premium light. In all fairness, I use radions but I think if I was setting up a tank I would also give strong consideration to the Maxspect Ethreal Infinite. A lot of bang for the buck especially when on sale for the holidays.

I would also consider AI Blades as they are absolutely capable of being a primary light source.
