That's gorgeous!
Back when it was new and shiny. All bubbled out. Has doubled in size now and the bubbles come and go. Thanks for stopping by!

Here Rich, use this one. Technically it is the same one ;)

Show off

Focus on the front head, maybe add some light to give you more depth of field, phone or camera get the front in focus, I love how the back ones look, kind of mysterious! :)

It looks like some time warp opened on my reef and is trying to capture the golden torch. LoL

Happy Sunday all. Was going to test. But rehydration after a long night of numbing pain via liquid adult dosing is the priority. ;)

I lost a 2.5" MexicanTurbo snail I had in QT. Not sure why, or how... but I had an idea..

Fed tank as usual, nori for the veggies, broadcasted Coral Candy and reef roids, and dosed Aminos. Then I dropped the carcass of the snail into the DT. (Fallow period is complete for the QT, no risk)

So entertaining!

If the dove snails are there it is being cleaned up, great vid. :)
Thanks. I wanted to try it out. I recall a scene from planet earth or blue planet series with a timelapse of a large mammal carcass being stripped to bone by a mass of scavengers under the arctic. Mesmerizing.

Beautiful! Love your rock scape =)

I'm pretty content with it as well. Thank u sir :)

It is always kinda cool to see the cleanup crew... well... cleaning up :D . Hope things get better with grabbing the pic for POTM, as well. Sadly I cannot offer any advise because I am the Jon Snow of photography.
Thanks.

Winter is coming.

Love the reef tank and not over sized frag tank. Nice work on the cuc video. Watching the little critters work might be my favorite part.

Thanks don.

Here is the video: Link

At 1:35 the timelapse focuses on the seal pup corpse being mowed down like me at a hot wings spot!

Got rained on an hour ago, sent home for the day. And I am gonna do some chores and then hit the husbandry hard.

To do:

- Full cleaning of the return pump, skimmer, and gyres. Will run them in a Vinegar mix in a 5g bucket without removing them (all the wiring is mounted and tied. Removing the is a nightmare.

- 20g WC
- full testing on all paramaters
- sump scrape and wipe down

Will be a very busy day. The tanks needs it badly. I havent done more than the two 20g wc's and rodi topoffs for 2 months.

TLC day.

Long day. Still not done.

Got ~15 gallons of fresh mix ready to go.
And never got to the return pump. But after disassembling the skimmer, I was surprised to find such little debris in the motor and pinwheel. Made me feel a bit better about delaying the pump cleaning.

It was time:

Gyres before:

And after:

Checked on the overflow... all is clean and well.

Skimmer in the tub (yes I waited for Her to leave first, and yes I bleached the tub and did a 30 day sun bake and rodi rinse with prime after.

Fuge before: (@Fudsey 'S GSP is slightly invasive ;) )
20191120_162532.jpg

And after: (gha tufts are dominating and the chaeto has overtaken everything else I had in there for Macro) learning curve. :(
Theres still a hand full of ogo and dragons breath in there, but it's barely hanging on)
20191120_181207.jpg

Wiped down all the sump inner walls and cleared the plumbing.

Testing is done.

Sg 1.024
Ph 7.9
dKh 7.8
Ca 430

No3 is down to 10ppm now. Cut the fuge lights down by 3 hrs. I would prefer to see 15-20ppm

Po4 is steadily dropping as hoped.. down to .26

The water change should get the dKh back up over 8 where I like it, and replenish the Ca back to 450ish.

Kalkwasser will be on the black friday list.
Whew. Very productive day for the reef.

Nice Rich. You need me to swing by with a razor to help with the glass let me know :p
Brian can’t believe you’d ask Rich for GHA when it’s the one thing I’ve nailed growing!
You make me sad ;Sorry

Thanks guys.

But murphy has struck. The bubbles wont go even half way up the skimmer and I'm running on E. the water change may wait till tomorrow, and the skimmer will need to be disassembled again, and figure out what's wrong. Annoying.

So I punched murphy in the kisser... and took some pics to smile instead.

Ugh, I hate that. One time I forgot to reconnect the airline in my Tunze skimmer and was not happy at all.

Its prolly something simple. Like I put something on backwards. Or misplaced a spacer on the impellar/pinwheel assembly. Will deal with it when I get home from work.
