So I got my new rain2 3 weeks ago. I had an extra pump in my sump that was running some reactors that I wasn't using and plenty of pvc. I thought it was going to be super easy. The pump (a mag 7) was a bit too strong and because of my sump design I was having a hard time installing a valve. Instead I hooked it up with the rain2 sitting right on top of the mag 7 and let it run while I planed to buy a more appropriate pump. Being the lazy reefer I am it took me 2 weeks to order a new pump (sicce 2.0). When I went to change the pump this is what I found.

Now I know the mag 7 is way over powered but it is doing something right and it is already hooked up. Now if i can get around to setting up a timer on the lights.

Awesome.

Looks like you have more than one light plugged in; if you use less lights, then the middle will fill in faster. The lights are super powerful.

Ok I had to pull my return pump to clean it in hopes that it will come back on which it did. So I took the opportunity to actually switch out the pump hopefully the slower flow will do as well as the overpowered pump has done the past week and a half.

I did swap the two leds I have on from the top two to the bottom two and I bought a timer that I should be figuring out instead of making this post.

So I hooked the timer up right after my last post and was not happy with the growth after 10 days. I just put the cover back on and took the timer offline there was no need to clean it. Tonight I open the cover to check on it and boom.

I will leave the smaller pump on and my lights will stay on 24/7 I also plugged in all 4 lights.

Do you have to dial the flow back any or is it running on full blast? Is the water output from the Rain2 loud with that much flow?

I just installed one of these on my 120g reef tank... running it off a 1' manifold. cant wait to see this kind of growth... will be interesting in seeing if it can handle a larger tanks than the one you have yours on...

How's the scrubber been running as of late? Now that you've had it for awhile, are you running all 4 lights?

I'm actually in the middle of breaking this tank down and I'm going to move this scrubber to my other tank. I plugged in all four light a couple months ago. I think as soon as you don't have bald patches on your screen it is safe to run all 4.
