Currently I have 2 jebao sow-8 wavemakers bit I have been unable at finding a nem guard for them. I am not sure if they even make them for that model. Any other ideas for a “guard/protector?”

Filter mesh or Yarn sleeves will work for that pump. You could also contact any of the people on the 3D printing forum and see if they have any designs.

If you look at other nem guards, there are others that are sort of one size all that surround the pump completely. The negative is that they are larger, but whichever option you use, I personally wouldn't gamble that my nem wouldn't go swimming at night and end up shredded.

Everyone has a different name for it, but before the 3D printed guards, vortech owners would use a product like this:

Amazon product

If the link doesn't show up, look up vortech mp40 foam guard on google images.

You can build your own out of foam filter floss/mesh that can surround your pump. The good news is that they will work as mechanical filtration- the bad news is that they will work as mechnical filtration ;) So if you use a system like this, you'll have to clean regularly. Other options include fine clear netting or cages you can build out of acrlyic, plastic cloth, etc.
