So I noticed that my 2 cardinals were acting weird today. They have been hanging together all day and they don't normally do that. Fast forward to tonight's feeding and I saw one of the pair not eating. When I looked harder at that particular one I noticed his was holding his mouth different. Then it hit me I do think he is holding babies in his mouth. I know they are mouth breeders. What do y'all think? Are they hard to raise?

I put 2 Banggai in my 10 gal last month to see if they pair up. I thought they were getting along, then after a month one died. Bought another one this week, a little smaller than the one in there. After a few days I noticed the new one dancing and actually rolling over when the larger one came near. Good sign, or bad that they are getting along?

I breed them...haven't perfected it yet but have 4 about a month old and have the male about to release another batch. I have raised a past pair from babies that my friend had given me. It took 12-14 months before they started breeding. The female will go up on the side of the male and shake then go to his other side and shake. I have seen them do this for hours and then I notice the male with eggs in his mouth.
