i am mixing my last 2 brutes to mix them and fill the tank. And i ran out of nyos pure salt midway. Is there any harm of using red 2 brands of salt in 1 brute? Would that cause any issues. Its a new tank. And its the initial fill

No. Some people mix instant ocean regular and reef crystals with their water changes. First fill so just check parameters afterwards to know where you are...good practice anyways

No harm, but do not mix dry salt of different brand together, just mix them separately and then fill the DT.

I don’t think there’s any issue at all with mixing 2 different brands of salt in the same brute. You can check the alkalinity prior to using it.

I’m currently switching to Red Sea marine from rpm, and I’m adding them to the same batch of water. I’m even throwing in a little tropic Marin pro that I had left over from a few years ago. There’s no point in throwing away the old salt, too expensive for the stuff today.

I’ll report back on how the water change goes in a week or so.
