Random tank i got, curious if this stocking will work

So the tank is roughly 6'x24"x18" tank.

Basically in terms of stocking
4-5 different tangs ( nothing too expensive either)
4-5 wrasse
A fish safe eel
A regal angelfish
Boxfish
Porcupine puffer
Misc fish

1 or 2 skimmers?

Recommendations?

you have about 134 gallons, I would say this is too much stuff for this size of tank

i think even just the 4 tangs alone would be a stretch, and a single porc puffer needs 150+ gallons of space full grown and is capable of eating other fish, i think you need to completely reconsider.

exactly this. Boxfish are also pretty agro towards other fish.

Alr, less tangs and no puffer, got it. Qm1 naso do fine? It has the same length and width as a 180 gallon

I personally wouldn't keep any large eel with smaller fish, so if you were to decide on an eel you would be really limiting your options (especially the zebra, they get very large) I would also reconsider the naso, they get very large relatively quickly. If you want to go the eel route, get the eel and maybe 3-4 medium fish to compliment it (one of the smaller large/dwarf angels, a tang and maybe a larger wrasse, along with the boxfish). If you wanted to go the eel-less route, all the smaller fish you have seem fine, but I would choose two out of the three of the regals, tangs, or pyramids. All three, along with the smaller fish seems like it would be pretty overstocked especially since even some of the 'smaller' fish you mentioned get a good few inches at maturity.

This sounds like a 150g and you may be pushing it here as you have fish that are messy housekeepers such as puffers and eel which drive up nitrates and fish such as regal angel and tangs that do not tolerate high levels of nitrate not to mention the growth potentials of some and the dietary requirements which are wide range

Way too many fish IMO. Way too small for a Naso. And a panther grouper grows super fast, not joking daily when small, and will eat anything half its size.

Now you are describing a predator tank in which they share similar diet and you want to eliminate boxfish which is slower in obtaining food and will eventually starve. Panther will get to an easy 16", puffer 8". I like the second list moreso. be careful when getting Naso as many are coming from Sri Lanka and are starving until death. May be cyanide captured.
Ask to see it eat at LFS, assure eyes are normal, its breathing normal and no body damage but for sure- ASK TO SEE IT EAT. If not eating, you may have a risk on your hands

for the second proposal drop the naso and that seems like a reasonable list. naso gets too large for a 6' tank.

You want to get fish that occupy different niches, so a mix of open water swimmers, cave dwellers, perchers, etc.

if it were my tank my list would be:

-gold rim tang
-multicolor angel
-longnose hawkfish (pair)
-clowns (pair)
-school of anthias
-one wrasse species

Thats actually a good idea, Dropping hawk and anthias tho. Gold rim is actually one i forgot about. Izts either goldrim or PBT.
