Is there a way I could test for the purity if I did purchase it or is that way over my head

That would likely cost more than buying a higher purity material, such as food grade or ACS reagent grade.

You're welcome.

Happy Reefing. :)
So I want to try the Recipe 1

2-3 year old 65 gallon mixed reef
8.4dkh
430 calc
1430 mag
8.0 ph
20 no3
0.107 po4
Weekly 20% wc TM pro reef salt

currently manually dose brs 2 part - test my Alk around 2pm and normally it’s 7.4 but some days it’s as low as 7.2 and as high as 8.2. Calcium I test and it normally stays at 430ppm days 1-3 after a WC then day 3 or 4 it’ll drop to 390-400ppm. Why am I not seeing a gradual decline days 1-3? Why is Alk testing different sometimes?

I read the instructions and directions of Recipe 1 and it says to dose both alk and calc the same amount daily. If my calcium isn’t dropping those days 1-3 but my Alk is wouldn’t that increase my calcium? Is it normal for my alkalinity to give me different readings everyday? Everyday it usually reads 7.3 - 7.5 but some days it could read 7.4, 7.8, 7.5, 8.0, 8.2 (no specific order). Thanks a lot for any advice!

Sorry to bump this. Does this mean that food grade or ACS reagent grade is of higher purity than "pharmaceutical grade"? I bought the "Pure Supplements" listed above.

The grades are somewhat different, but not better.

My words were in response to him asking whether he could run tests to ensure purity.
