Rant - Side-By-Side Sporting Event & Commercials on TV

Don’t watch much TV but there are a couple of sporting events that I enjoy. What is it with this new fangled split screen showing half of the TV with the sporting event and the other half of the screen has a commercial?

Anyone else find this Very distracting and Difficult to watch either screen?

Maybe I should just go back to watching my aquarium?

Well you are supposed to watch the ads, not the sport

The sport itself is more like an ad for the other ads, so to speak

In full agreement. We watch Formula 1 racing here and the network does the split screen with the commercial getting the audio, obviously. I just mute the audio while the commercial is on so we can focus on the screen with the racing.
