rare zoas or higher end zoas

i have an established r90 and want to start my zoa garden but want some rarer or cool looking zoas what are yall go to zoas or some of your favs pics if you can!!

This is just my opinion after having reef tanks for 25+ years.

There are so many zoas that are available, and you do not have to limit yourself to the so-called rare or high end category to have a colorful and cool looking garden. Go with what YOU like instead of buying into the “man made” cost= quality concept. Yesterday’s high end beautiful zoas are now today’s super cheap “has beens”, and that trend always continues year after year. There is always that “hot” coral that everyone wants…until nobody wants it one year later.

Kinda agree with the above. The ONLY difference besides cost between the high end stuff and the cheap stuff is growth rate. Rastas and Sunny D's hold their own against any high end zoa. I do disagree that they ever become the super cheap stuff of yesterday, they hold their value a little better. The difference is they can sprout a polyp a day. High ends can melt any day and take months to generate noticeable growth.

okay yea i guess wat im saying is i want some diffrent zoas that i dont see much of i guess i will just keep looking for corals that i really like. but yea im not just looking for "rare" but i just want to see some unique ones i dont see much of.

GMK's are a classic, really nice zoa. LSOH are good looking.

Maybe not rare individuals, but would be rare to find a garden containing all of a class of zoas, e.g., all hornets (rainbow hornets,purple hornets, blue hornets, murder hornets, etc.) or "spheres" (stratospheres, exospheres, mesospheres, etc.).

Those are exospheres, probably my favorite zoa. Grow decently and look great.

I have no room for more zoas but I'll make space when I find some godbeasts! My exospheres are finally growing, which is exciting.

I like this thought process, but with this you can't short circuit it.... You've got to do the looking and the seeing.

I don't care either way if someone wants rare, expensive, hard to get... If that is their thing, groovy.

It is really hard to do unique without either a trusted provider, or time in the hobby and "subject matter expert" knowledge.
