Hi all,

New to saltwater!

What is the rate at which you all have had success in adding new fish? Some say don’t more than double your bioload/month and some say 1/week.

I’ve got my initial fish plan all squared away just want to ramp up safely.

I'm a fan of the 1 month rule. It's probably a bit too lengthy but it allows plenty of time for the bacteria to catch up to the bio load.

Depends on the magnitude of the 'doubling'. If you are just talking fish, then going from 1 to 2 and then 2 to 4 in a couple of weeks should be OK. Going from 20 to 40 not OK. I put all fish through QT, so my limited QT space makes it impossible to add too much toot fast.
