Without thinking straight I've repurposed an old QT tank used with Copper Safe

The tank had been sitting for a few months, I recently cleaned it out with vinegar. Any chances the copper got into the silicone and is now leaching out?

If so would my sand bed and rocks now be considered compromised.

This dawned on me when my fighting Conk died two days ago. He only lasted 3 days in the tank

Any tank that has had copper in it has a risk to leach from the silicone. Unfortunately a vinegar wash can’t get all of it out. If the rock and sand that were in the tank while the copper safe was being dosed is still being used, that will also leach copper. - kali

No the rock and sand are new. Only thing being reused is the tank/sump
