How many out here can actually say they are Night Owls? Who actually prefer being awake during the night and sleep during the day?
I'm asking because as a mom I'm concerned about my son, who's 22. He insists he prefers to stay up all night and sleep all day. Yes he works full time, afternoon shifts. Usually gets home between 12am & 3am. But then will go to the gym after work and then come home an play xBox or watch t.v. He even keeps this schedule on his off days.
Not sure why but it bothers me :(

I think it's perfectly normal. I work 7am-3pm and I wouldn't be able to come home after work and go to bed. I would think as long as he's happy and on a schedule it's fine.

If he really is going to the gym and coming home to play Xbox then yes it's not only good but healthy too. Most accidents at work are caused by people who work too much and never break from it. Going to the gym and playing Xbox is him unplugging from work. This is a very good thing. He probably doesn't even realize it. And him keeping his schedule on days off is also healthy for him.
I work shift work too. Sometimes midnight to noon and vise versa. I also worked for a FD for 5 years. Schedule changes are bad to the body and effect ones health.

I worked swing shift for many years 3:30 to 12:00.. I was not able to come home and go to bed so I also switch my life and sleep while most people were working. If he working out eating right, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
