Receding bubble gum monster

Help.....pls. ive had this bubble gummonster for about a year and its just now starting to recede in half of it. I thought it was an aptasia that was next to it but i got rid of that and it still seems to be receding even higher. any thoughts?
 
It could have been the aptasia that started it. Can you cut the bad part out ? That will definetly stop it
 
Cut the dead part off. Do a Lugols dip to prevent infection. Also check your Magnesium level is not below 1300ppm. Hope this helps.
 
Agreed, cutting the dead part off should help a lot
