Building a cube stand all 3/4 plywood my question is I want the door to be recessed so it looks like there isn’t a door so I set my inside frame of the door 3/4 inch in and that leaves me with perfect amount to flush the door but how much do I leave for a gap so the door can swing open ?

I'd consider using magnets to hold it in place rather than hinges. then , leave yourself about 1/8" or so all the way around.

www.kjmagnetics.com is my go to for that. 3 of the 3/4 diameter x 3/8 thick with ~#10 pull would be perfect. Use a cross piece on the bottom to rest the door on and you will be set.

For inset cabinet doors the gap suggestion is 1/16 to 3/32. That said I’ve heard others just use the thickness of a penny.

For insert doors, I go a thick 16th and usually end up back beveling the inside of the opening side with a block plane so it doesn't catch.

Get good hinges (I use BLUM) and there's plenty of adjustability in there.
