So I made this using random parts I have collected over the years. My list as follows

Silicone tubing I used 1/8” this is what I had handy, I think silicone is better for a good seal.

Super glue

Somatic UF-1 media filter, Comes with all the fittings you should need

T barbed fittin(optional)

Next it cut a price of the silicone tubing to create a tight fit around the elbow. Using the superglue I made a ring and then glued it to the slimmer lid.

I found I had to make a second ring as the tension the tubing placed on it would not stay attached.

Lastly I connected it to the reactor.

This makes a completed closed loop system that should hopefully reduce the amount of media used in a week.

Please not the T piece may need to be used it there is too much resistance or increasing the Ph too much. I found that when I had it on I had to put a bandaid over the free air connection because the air was completely bypassing the system.

I did try hot glue initially but then found it wasn’t holding.
As this is not a solenoid that can turn off the flow to the media I have my apex to turn off my skimmer I f ph gets above 8.4.

Have you noticed the media lasting longer? I have a family that love the warm and living in England that equates to closed Windows and lots of people in one room. I like the idea of a co2 scrubber but but running through media weekly. It's a small tank so shouldn't be too bad but the more efficient I can make it the better.

Thanks dude. I did see this and the logic around recirculating makes sense. I wonder is recirculating Without the scrubber will help on its own, although less

Can't speak for OP but mine is working very well. Lasting far, far longer than usual. My PH used to be 7.8 to 8.1, but with my co2 recirculating scrubber and some chaeto I can hit a PH of 8.5. I keep it at 8.1 at night and 8.3 during the day.
