I need a reliable ATO for my Reefer 250 as I be away from 10-14 days and may not be able to get anyone to come over and add RO to my sump.

I did a search in this forum for ATO and the Tunze 3155 keeps on coming up with mixed comments. Some love it and some have had issues. What are the pros and cons of the 3155?

Are there any other ATO’s brands/models that you recommend?

IMO the Tunze 3155 is among the best out there. The back up float is a must IMO as I have seen optical sensors not register on rare occasions including with the 3155 once for me. If you run an apex it's nice to have another sump high apex switch right above the Tunze so you have a second backup on an unrelated device.

With the Reefer 250 the RO reservoir tank that sits on top of the sump is only 2.8 gallons and I plan to buy a much larger RO tank to use with this ATO. If there are any Reefer 250 owners reading this what was the largest RO tank (brand/gallons) that you managed to fit inside the cabinet?

If you want a temporary solution then connect a larger water supply to the RSR float valve instead of the stock ATO tank. I did this the first time I went away, put a 30L barrel of RODI on a stool next to the tank, put a male-to-male fitting into the bung hole and an RO line push-in tap valve onto that, connected to the RSR float valve via RO line. That gave me 30L of top-up water instead of 8L for the week I was away. 30L would easily last you 2 weeks.

I have an Apex and now run a Neptune ATK from my RODI reservoir to keep my RSR ATO full automatically, so never have to top it up anymore.
