Hey guys,

Just finished setting up this 55g Deep Blue. Small Tsunami sump.

This tank will be a transition tank for skiddish/smaller new fish. Just to get acclimated & eating before going into my 220. Only permanent residents will be a group of dither fish (anthias, cardinals, etc).

Barebones set-up. Probably no skimmer, will run UV & semi frequent water changes. 2x Smatfarms 60W for lights coming today. Minimal rock work to make catching easier.

Give me some ideas for soft corals, post pics of set-ups, etc. Blue Xenia, GSP, shrooms etc.

Zoas would be a great addition!

Be careful if using Xenia or GSP.
The stuff can use up a lot of real estate.

I farm GSP on the back glass where it can be easily maintained.

Xenia I don’t keep as pieces can break off and start new colonies everywhere.

Come to think of it, this will be my first reef tank!

Bought and sold so much coral for various LFS’s when I was younger. Never anything of my own.

Lol, crazy….

Sweet tank!
You have the deep blue carbon fiber stand I used to have and can not find these days. Where did you get it from?

Local used BST page here in Pinellas county.

My normal QT setups are tanks on cinder blocks. Easy up & down. Being this was more permanent, figured I should probably get something that wasn’t so….redneck.
