recovering from tank crash

after a water change before going away for a few days there was a problem with my filter pump. it failed and due to previous problems in my tank ive lost all of the fish in my 50 litre tank. My soft corals are recovering (and my hermit crabs are as bulletproof as ever). i did an eighty percent water change and ive been removing the blooms of cyanobacteria and other pest algaes. i was wondering what else is should do in order to get my tank back on track. as for the future ive decided to take a diffrent path and re design the tanks hardscape in order to create more of a refuguim style tank and possible focus more on inverts rather than fish. any ideas on how i can redesign as well as how i can make sure my tank recovers are welcome.

I have all my equipment plugged into a smart plug each. So I can see and get notifications when power draw isn't right. That might've at least had you fix the problem more quickly.

Your tank just needs time. When my tank crashed, it took a full year afterwards for my corals to start growing again. Just keep the tank stable and ride it through and don't try to rush it. Good luck

Consider a Caribbean lagoon with a heavy emphases on mixed filter feeders, ornamental seaweeds and soft corals.
