Recycling (Dead) live rock and sand

What can I do to reuse my long dead sand and rock. Its been out of the tank for a couple of years now?
I know I will be adding some fresh Sand to the tank.

Discard the sand. The rock can be treated with hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid) which dissolves the outer layer of the rock and leaves a clean surface.

BRS did a video on curing rock if you need help. They did 3 different methods. Natural, acid(mentioned above) and bleach.

I reused my last set of rocks and did a natural cure since it’s the easiest set and forgot imo. Acid is real fast and somewhat safe and bleach is ultra fast but can be a little dangerous.

if you aren’t on a time crunch, just do a natural cure. Here’s the link to the BRS videos. Worth noting, they did an investigates and stated that bleach out performed acid cures if you were considering going with a non natural route
