So the other day I got a high-fin red banded goby. The first day I got him, he cowered near the glass. The second day I saw him twice, by shining a flashlight under the rock. However, today there has been zero spotting of him in the tank (15 gal nano). I havent seen him come out to feed or anything so far (they usually take a few days to begin eating from what i've heard). The other occupant, a clown, hasnt shown any signs of aggression besides curiosity when he was added. Is this normal behavior for them all the time or just acclimation? If it is all the time, is there any way I can get him to be a little more sociable (i.e. add a pistol shrimp, another red band goby)?

It varies from specimen to specimen. Some take almost no time to be comfortable others may take a week or more. Some never come out. You can add a pistol shrimp and he would be more comfortable, also fun to watch this pairing in a tank.
