I got this at a frag swap 11days ago, it was completely red when I got it now it looks like this.

I have 12k 250w MH lights
what do you think is wrong?

The corals needs to be moved down. It probably does need to acclimate to the light, also looks like something with sweeper tentacles could be damaging the coral. As always check water chemistry.

It's a very nice colored piece I hope you can save it.

Search on here for Bayer, or google bayer coral dip.
I would also start researching coral pests. I'm dealing with montipora eating nudibranchs and it's not fun. Once all my montis are gone, I'm guessing I'm going a year without any montipora. :(
Best to get that worked into your procedure for new frags.

You don't need to drip acclimate coral - IMO- I never have and we're good. Just looking to save you time that you could be using to inspect your new frag for unwanted hitchhikers/pests.

As others mentioned, check for coral warfare, those mushrooms will kill your sps if they get the chance.
If it was bleached, I would expect to see polyps, but clear. It looks like skeleton in the picture.

Any fish that are reef questionable?

alk is something you want to get a test kit for, that and Ca (Calcium). I know a very high end SPS blah blah more money than I can think of tank that uses the API Alk & Ca tests. Nothing else from API but specifically the Alk & Ca tests. Hopefully that can get you something that might be more cost-effective and get you in the habit of checking your alk/CA at a min.
Alk is something the changes and IME the first thing that leads to problems. Consistency is key with Alk and everything else for that matter.

i would cut the bleached parts off and just glue whats left to a lower part of your tank.

i'm not sure if alot of people do this or not but i always start my new sps at the bottom of the tank.
