Red growth on rocks.

Hello everyone.
I have had this red growth on my rocks developing over the past week or so and I was hoping someone can help with an Id.

It does not brush off with a brush, but scrapes off when I use my finger nail.

I am sure it’s not red turf algae since I had that and this does not look like it.
Split between coralline and red slime.

It’s not Cynobacteria if it requires a brush to remove.

Is it only on the rocks or does it also cover the sand?

Does it fade out at night?

It does not get removed using a brush, only on rocks, does not fade out.

The only reason I suspect red cyano is because I get a patch every now and then on the sand, other than that it does not look like it.

Brown semi rigid but slippery macro algae. Often confused with plating coralline, the slippery rubbery feel is a give away if you don't want to use scientific methods to determine the id. Can be highly variable both in color and in formation. Can be red or yellow, and can grow in saucer like shapes, (pictured to the left), or in a ruffled ribbon formation.
