I recently decided on a Red Sea 425 XL. I went with a Sicce Syncra 9.0, a Red Sea 600 skimmer with 2 Reefwave 25’s. For my lights I have 2 Red Sea ReefLED 90. I went with 80 lbs of Oceans Direct Caribbean Live Sand and some Artesian calcium carbonate rock to start with. I included Marine pure blocks in the sump to go with the filter socks.

I recently started the Red Sea Reef Mature program to begin cycling my tank.

Best of luck, and I’ll be watching your experience carefully, as I’m thinking of doing the exact same thing (first reef tank, Red Sea 425) in the next few months!

I own the same tank set up in May, cycled and transferred everything from Im 40 in July, So far everything working well

Any updates on your tank?
