That’s not true as they give directions for mixing on every bucket of salt.

Some salts require more or less salt to reach 35ppt.

So or this salt mix, if 1/2 cup will equal 1.025, and not to mix for more than 2 hours, what about temp wise? Should I mix it at the 75 degrees, and then have it go into my tank and have it warm up to 77-78 there, or mix it at 75 degrees, then when it's done mixing, heat it up to my tank temp and then move it to my tank?

I do 1/2 cup per gallon and keeps coming out too high 37.5 ppt instead of 35 ppt for the 2nd time.

Your salinity is probably off.

You only need to check salinity, you can’t use volume or weight and then wonder why the salinity is off, salt absorbs water, you also have to factor in user error and equipment error.

Buy a Tropic Marin hydrometer to get your salinity near enough perfect. You can then use the hydrometer to keep your hydrometer calibrated.
