Red Sea dc skimmers

You Deserve an acrylic skimmer, I would return that and buy reef octo, reliable, time tested and Will hold up. Depending on size of tank check their ratings, I buy NOTHING Red Sea and been reefing since the 80 s. Good Luck!

The air intake on the RSK 600 can be "silenced" with a short length or rubber hose (like the OTA hose or half a Foundation/Trace hose that goes in a 1 Litre Foundation bottle) on both air intakes. The short length doesn't restrict the flow but it provides enough of an air baffle to silence the air feeding into the filter. Using the whole 8+ inch length of tubing will show the effect but it doesn't need to be that long.

FYI, my RSK-600 stopped skimming well, producing almost zero skimmate... so I pulled it out and cleaned the pinwheel and venturi... while it was out of the sump I noticed the body has stress fractures all over the bottom bends and at the pump inlet opening... and just in the middle of the body! It's only a year old. After putting it back together it really never worked well again... I finally gave up and bought a reef octo regal 200-S which is performing SUPER... and it's super thick acrylic, the build quality just wow. MILES better than the RSK-600!... The reef octo is so easy to tune also...

I wanted to sell the RSK-600 but the body is cracked, so I opened a case with Red Sea... Their support is claiming "physical damage" and will not replace the body... OYE! Never buying another Red Sea product again.

OP not sure how you're fairing but just wanted to let you know how things went for me. I used the RSK for about a year...
