Red Sea max 250

I have an opportunity of purchasing a sink, a red C max 250 for $150. It does not have the canopy do you think this tank is worth it?

There are many - I mean like too many - stories of people with Red Sea tanks that have literally busted a seam and have caused massive flooding damage to people's homes. There was a defect in their manufacturing process that they claim they have remedied, but I don't know. Personally, I wouldn't run a Red Sea tank if it was given to me, but I'm really not trying to be a hater or bash. I just want you to know :-)

It's a good deal, but I'd not do it for two reasons. First, it's a Red Sea. There have been reports of seam failures on Red Sea tanks. Second is that it's a used tank. I had a bad experience with my one and only experience with a used tank. It started leaking on me after six months or so. It was a ROYLE pain to swap out.

And I'm with @Fish Fan, I wouldn't run one if given to me either. I'd CONSTANTLY be watching the seams. Not worth it to me.

Yep! Way too much stress!

@earlfd I understand you likely are looking for a used system to get into reefing on a budget, and I totally get that. But I would seriously wait on this one :-)

heck no. Probably about to burst. Read on seam bursts for red sea, you will see what everyone is saying.. dont want that water all over your floor when that seam goes. Lots of wayyy better made tanks out there for sure :)
