Hey everyone, I have just started a new build with the Red Sea Max Nano XXL. In the past I have had a couple water box 20 gallon cubes. My job required me to move around a lot at the time so I was always in apartments. Unfortunately making it hard for me to have an established aquarium. I have recently purchased a home and I am excited to get back into the hobby knowing the tank will be here to stay for a while.

I plan on making it a mixed reef tank, I want to get into SPS corals.

I picked up the tank during the 4th of July sale for 15% off which was a good deal. For those wondering, it took about 2 weeks from order to delivery for me in Florida. I believe this took longer due to the holiday & the fact that red sea ran out of the lights so they delayed shipment. Fortunately, @SaltwaterAq was accommodating and coordinated with red sea to ship the tank without the lights while they shipped me the lights from their warehouse! Super awesome customer service.

The stand wasnt too difficult to set up, I thought the instructions were clear and it took me about an hour. The tank itself wasn't to heavy either, my wife was able to help me carry it from the garage inside without suction cups.

The gear I ordered with the tank:
Max Nano XXL (Came with protein skimmer & lights)
Reef ATO+
Nanomat
Reefdose 4 & dosing kit (Redsea)
Slide out control panel
Reefcan 40
400W heater & inkbird control panel
Reefwave 25 (Open Box)
Salt, testing kits, nets, scrapers, RODI system, etc.

Wants:
Custom lid
Autofeeder

First fish:
Deciding between a pair of Black Ice clowns or Frostbite.

Tank is cycling now, used fritz turbostart. Follow along for more!

Will follow along! I set up a max nano XXL about a month ago. Cycle complete. My first two fish were mocha clowns. Now you motivated me to start my build thread. My only hardware add on was a wavemaker 25 for better flow control when I start putting in corals. Aquascape looks great!

Awesome! I haven't seen many XXL's on here so figured id add mine into the mix. Looking forward to seeing your build thread!

On mine it's Kind of a background white noise, Its present when I enter room like in the morning, becomes almost unnoticeable if I spend any time in the room

Just added an ATO+ yesterday to mine. Kracken lid is next I think. My goby chased a gas bubble and almost cleared the rim the other day

JustJax... I am waiting for delivery of my Nano XXL and stumbled onto your build thread. I noticed that your in St. Augustine. So am I! Maybe we're actual neighbors. Your tank looks great. I'm inspired.
