Red Sea nano mat question

I also heard you had to have the water level at specific low level. Does it work with just the RedSea+ Auto top off or any ato?

It’s bit tricky when it comes to water level rising when roller activates and water is released from the rommermat chamber.

*If you don’t have it set right, your ATO will go off when not desired and over time it can raise your sump water level as well*

Some helpful option is to have large surface area in your sump so the water is distributed to raise very little water. Which means largest sump possible if you can. I did this for my current build.

Other thing is deciding how much of filter is rollers away which can effect how much of water is released back. Red Sea rollermat has option for you to choose how much it rolls. 05” to 4” etc…

Skimmer and ATO sensor will be most effected by water level changing.

I use manaul ATO pump. So exactly 3000liter per day dosed evenly. So no ato sensor.

Skimmer on the other hand does fluctuate because of this. So I have skimmer running more on the dry side.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
