Red Sea Nano Reef Matt

I have had the Nano mat for about 3 weeks, I have advanced it 3 times, the lights are on and it gets dirty, when it’s quite dirty water seems to edge its way under the 4” sock seal and spills over. I am using it in an Aqua one Reef sys 180. It has not auto ran once yet. Any suggestions please everybody

I have a 500 so I'm not familiar with the nano mat. Looking at the manual I would say make sure the auto advance is turned on, if it is I would make sure the sensor is installed correctly. It should advance when water reaches the sensor. If water never reaches the level of the sensor I think water has to be bypassing the fleece at a pretty high rate.

Thanks for your answer, I used to run the Return pump at 11 which is about 60% of the TMC 4000 flow so, I turned it down to 6 and that should be slow enough but maybe I need to knock it down one more time, I’m just worried I might lose the turnover?

Adding on to this just in case it is useful to anyone else with the same inquiry, I covered both sides of the Red Sea ‘red seal on the 4” sock holder, with food grade silicone grease and turned the return pump to number 5 which, is a bit on the low side but appears to work, the good news atm is no leak around the edge we will see when it is very dirty.
