I’ve had my RSR250 since 2020 and have just noticed the seam on the right side of my tank looks like it has sand coming through it. I know there are a ton of Red Sea failures, but I’m wondering if this truly looks like it’s going to start leaking? I have attached a photo.

Thanks for the input!

This definitely doesn’t look great… silicone is peeling from the viewing pane (likely at or near bottom center), a textbook failure mode for these tanks…

The bottom pane on this tank should be 10mm, or right around 3/8”… if the peeled silicone (AKA adhesive failure) is any closer to the tank’s bottom than that, this is a cause for immediate concern!

Additionally, would it be possible to examine this area in particular with a bright point light source, from a few different angles?

It looks suspiciously like another area with internal silicone damage (silicone tearing, AKA cohesive failure), based off the slightly lighter grey “cloud” visible there…
