Looks like diatoms?

That's what I was thinking but I'm going on a month now and they have not really subsided. Phosphates are still reading at or very near 0.

Besides the stock barb, I do not have any O-Rings. Just a little bit of water to slip the stock barb into its housing did the trick.

My RSR450 has orange O-rings at every pipe connection. The one that goes down the return box through the bottom is very tight to turn. I ordered some mollykote for the orings.
