Hey guys I just installed my reefmat system from Red Sea and lately I’ve only be logging that I use around 6 inches or less daily. I’m wondering what makes the reef mat tool faster/slower ? Does it only roll when dirty ? This is a new system so there is not much clean thus far.

It looks very similar to my X Filter, as far as the basic principal is concerned, so when the filter paper gets dirty, the water level rises and triggers the motor to move the filter roll until the water level lowers, and it turns the drive off.

Thats what the design looks like anyway so might help you unless someone else can help.

I am averaging 6 inches a day myself. At this rate it's good for at least 6 months lol. Only been installed for a week

As the mat gets dirty the water can’t pass. It will rise until it touches the sensor then that will tell unit yo turn.
