Red Sea reefwave 25 in IM40 too much flow?

I have the IM fusion pro 40 gallon. A few fish, some torches and hammers, zoas, toadstool, and candy cane corals. I try and run the redsea 25 on the lowest setting and variable flow. Seems like the torches and hammers just get “hammered” by flow. I think turning it off is too little flow. Should I maybe try a different type or style of powerhead? Maybe 2 small ones on opposite sides? My hammers and torches just really don’t extend out very much. I’ve tried moving them around in the tank but the flow seems consistently too much. I’m running the might jet return pump it came with. Any thoughts?

You could also try putting the pump sideways

Otherwise, a pair of jeabo sow-4 works pretty well in my 40B.

Sideways is a thought maybe, but still going to be a lot of flow. I’m leaning towards replacing it but my clowns nest on it at night and might get mad! The redsea has a pretty narrow stream and I feel like the other powerheads have a wider but gentler flow pattern. I have never had anything different than my redsea so I can’t verify this.

I think I’m kind of looking at Ecotech mp10 or Nero 3 but don’t know that much about either yet so doing some light reading to educate myself.

Pulled the trigger on the ecotech mp10. Will see how it goes.
